Menstrual Hygiene Day is celebrated on May 28th of every year. Talking about periods, blood, menstrual cramp and hygiene was once considered a taboo. But, not anymore. Schools and educational institutes speak about menstrual hygiene, while many social organizations create awareness among the rural communities.
Most women avoid using sanitary pads because they cannot afford to spend the amount every month. However, unhygienic practice while using cloth might cause infection or allergy.
PULA started an initiative on Menstrual Hygiene Day in 2019 called #PagaarPePad. To gift the house/office helps with sanitary pads. The main idea behind the initiative is to create awareness, educate, and support menstrual health and hygiene.
Therefore, PULA members gifted their helpers a pack of sanitary pad along with their salary. They were asked to educate the helpers on the safe modes of disposing of the pad and talk about menstrual health and hygiene. Many of them shared posts and photos of gifting sanitary pads to their helpers. PULA is proud to break stereotypes and create awareness within their community.
PULA Care Foundation is a diversified community that aspires to nurture and empower the society. It encourages individuals to transform themselves and reform their communities.
