During the monsoon season in 2021, the Konkan region experienced heavy rainfall with gusty winds, lightning, and thunderstorms due to the cyclonic circulation. Because of continuous and non-stop rainfall, the situation became critical with submerged water causing damage to people’s livelihood and property.
The life of Konkan people was devastated and came to halt because of the flood. Various government and non-government organizations came forward to help the people with relief items and funds.
PULA team initiated the #LetsRebuildKonkan to collect donations and relief items. They allocated collection centers in various locations with volunteers. Those who were unable to reach the allocated centers were requested to send the relief item via parcel services and apps.
PULA community collected new and gently worn clothes, sanitary pads, diapers, bedsheets, blankets, toiletries, footwear, umbrella, raincoat, water, soaps, etc. all the items were neatly packed and sent to the main center from where all the collected items are distributed to the people. Being able to help one another during times like these prove that there is still hope for humanity.
PULA Care Foundation is a diversified community that aspires to nurture and empower the society. It encourages individuals to transform themselves and reform their communities.
