During the Dussehra season people clean their houses and discard worn out and unused clothing and things. Rather than increasing the landfill and causing harm to the environment, the unused clothing and things can be recycled/upcycled or thrifted.
In 2015 a #THEFESTIVEBASH was held by PULA, where they initiated “Let’s donate than dump”. The event was conducted during the Dussehra festival with a lot of stalls with food, clothing, jewelry, etc,. in an organized manner with pre-bookings. So, all the stall members and guests were requested to bring their old/unused clothes, blankets, and bedsheets to donate.
This initiative was partnered with HFCF (Hope For The Children Foundation). It is a foundation that has created a greater impact on millions of children and their families from their vulnerable situation.
Many people who attended the event donated clothes, bedsheets, and blankets for children and women. All the collected items were neatly packaged and tagged separately. And it was given to the HFCF team.
PULA Care Foundation is a diversified community that aspires to nurture and empower the society. It encourages individuals to transform themselves and reform their communities.
