In August 2018, Kerala faced unusually heavy rainfall during the monsoon season causing severe flooding and landslides. Many lost their loved ones and livelihood. To help and support Kerala from the dreadful situation, the central government announced the rescue and relief operation. All the state governments, NGOs, NPOs, and the public started collecting relief and monetary aid.
PULA always finds a way to help the needy, and does not waste any time in supporting a cause. Thus, started #PULASupportsKerala and collected essential and basic necessities to better the lives of the people of Kerala.
The team shared the list of items required and volunteers list for different locations to make the collection process easy and organized.
The PULA family never fails to surprise us. Within a week, the team collected first aid kits, pulses and grains, toiletries, sanitary pads and diapers, babywear and adult clothing, blankets, bedsheets, towels, footwear, and lightweight utensils. The total collection items filled a truck and a big tempo to the brim.
Similarly, transporting the collected donation cost 20k and the fund was requested on PULA’s social media group. Immediately the team was able to collect Rs.14500 and PULA contributed the remaining Rs.5500. So, the total expenditure was successfully raised and the relief items were sent to the destination.
